Something that has been bothering about the whole Akin thing, was he payed to throw the election? 1) First the three Republicans running against Claire McCaskill were all leading her in the polls. 2) Next the Dems including Claire McCaskill bought over 1 million dollars worth of ads to support Akin in the primaries. 3) Akin wins the primary with 34% of the vote in an open state with many Dems reportedly voting for Akin. 4) Next Akin says something so dumb it is hard to believe anyone could say it thus blowing the 11 point lead he had over Claire McCaskill. 5) Then Akin refuses to drop out when everybody but the Dems are urging him to. To me the whole thing smells very fishy and I have to wonder if Akin was paid or blackmailed into throwing the race.
