Water Heater Help

Do my first water heater. Everything has been pretty straight forward but I cannot get the old water heater out. It won't budge! Bought the house new and this is the original heater and no idea how the contractors locked this thing down. Here's a pic. Anyone seen this before? It seems the heater is attached to the metal pan which is attached to the wood frame below it.

Its not attached. its just damn heavy. Have you drained it yet?
