Amen on "to each his own" about your food preferences.
When somebody starts paying for my steak - or I start paying for theirs - then each of us *might* be entitled to an opinion about it.
My grandmother used to say "There ain't no accounting for taste."
My grandfather used to say "Let your vittles stop your mouth."

Medium-rare to Medium for me. Wife brought this t-bone and a filet for her and the kiddo home yesterday.

If anyone is traveling to/through Salina, KS, I ate at Tucson's Steakhouse on Tuesday evening. Perfectly cooked and seasoned! Very reasonably priced, also. I had the KC Strip. Would definitely eat there again.

Grandma served only round steak burnt in the skillet.
Fried okra, squash, green-picked black eyed peas, and vine ripe tomatoes. Irish (pronounced “arsh”) potatoes. Them potatas were fried in such a way that some were a little burnt and some were damn near raw. Del Monte ketchup.
That’s the best way to eat steak
