Anyone else get so excited about a build that you make a bonehead move due to rushing to get it together? Or is it just me?:hithead:
Finally got to the range today to try out my latest 300blk pistol build to go with my whisper pickle:

Tried it without the pickle to check for stabilization with some factory 190gr sub-x and 208gr amax black since it's only a 7.5" 1-8 barrel. The sub-x's looked great on paper, but the amax's looked a little sus as holes weren't clean and round. I did notice that the first case was still stuck halfway out of the bolt, but I've read that it could be undersized gas port or too strong recoil spring and weight. So I donned the pickle and hoped I wouldn't mortar the danged thing down range and see $1k bounce across the ground. Well no drama there and the thing is stupid quiet! *Giggle snort!*

But now i noticed the bolt wasn't even trying to cycle, hhhmmmm, so I start investigating... Upon inspection I noticed my gunsmith (yours truly) forgot to install the rollpin in the adjustable gas block for the gas tube.:withstupi

What is sad is I found the rollpin in its little baggie on my overcrowded garage workbench about a week ago and it took me a minute to figure out what it was. I just dismissed it as a running spare gas block pin instead of taking time to check build.:homer:
I'm hoping this fixes the fte issue now that it is back to stoner specs unless I forgot something else in my haste.

TL;DR: Moral of the story is take your time on builds and have a clean workbench to make sure there's no 'extra' parts leftover.

Ok, I'm ready for all the ribbing! :sunbath:
