Hello OKShooters, my name is Dr Sbaitso, I am here to help you (actually, I'm here for you to help me).
I've visited this site while doing Google searches and have always found the answer I need regarding reloading, so I figured I'd sign up to ask a random, unrelated question that can't be found with simple Google searches.
First off, I'll come clean and admit that I'm not the real Dr Sbaitso, just a huge fan. Nor am I a real doctor. I am a 20 year old single white male, I enjoy home cooking, holding hands, and quilting (gotcha!).
Ok, let's get cereal... Top off your coffee and add an extra dash of Baileys, you might be here for a while.
I hate labels, maybe because they're stupid or maybe because they confuse me, especially political labels. And after this last election, I can't take the confusion anymore and I have to know what I am. When I ask what I am, I'm referring to any of the million different political affiliation and standpoint labels out there. There's liberal, conservative, libertarian, conservative liberalism, and many more plus any combination of those countless terms. I am a Republican and much believe in a limited, constitutional Government, but it's just not that easy, and as much as I try to figure out for myself, I leave with more questions than I do satisfactory answers. So what I'll do is give a breakdown of my beliefs and I need your help to help me help myself figure out just what to call myself.
I will focus on some of the most popular subjects, if I skip over something that you need to know in order to give a better answer, then by all means ask me how I feel about it, I have an opinion about everything (hot chocolate tastes better with milk than it does water). So here it blows...
I am not religious (dabbled in mormanism, baptism, then moved to being agnostic and now athiest)
I am pro-choice. I don't believe it's for everyone, especially with the attitude of "it's ok to not use protection, I'll just get an abortion" and only believe it's ok up to a certain point in the pregnancy.
I am anti-Drug War. I am not a user, and I believe that drugs aren't for everyone (but neither is alcohol or tobacco for that matter), but I do believe that all drugs should be legalized and regulated, not only for quality control, but also to not turn every day, beneficial citizens into criminals (like the lady a few months ago who was caught with a couple pot plants growing in her house. It wasn't believed that she was growing with intent to distribute, it wasn't believed she ever brought any to school, nor did she ever show up to school under the influence. It wasn't believed that she had ever discussed it with students or most importantly never offered any to students. Now she's an unemployed criminal.) Plus, it all comes down to personal freedom and responsibility. I don't believe we need Nanny laws protecting us from ourselves.
I am pro-Open Carry. Not that I believe I would ever openly carry, except maybe while hiking or something. I obviously support the 2A and believe that any qualified citizen who chooses to carry the tools to defend themselves should be able to do so.
I am pro-legal immigration, very anti-illegal immigration. I'm not racist at all, I'm no hillbilly who starches my white hood and dances around a burning cross all weekend. But it's not about that. These people are blatantly disrespecting the laws of our nation and we're the ones paying for it, not them. I don't care if you're from Mexico, Canada, Europe, or any other country or continent. There is a process to enter this country, and yes it may take some time, but good things come to those who wait. I believe in US military resistence to those hopping the fence to our south. Although these people might not be here to bomb our buildings and cause massive loss of life, they are a threat to our nation.
I am pro-death penalty. Fight fire with fire. Kill someone? Then be killed, you're worthless to society. BUT, only under strict circumstances. Most people on death row deserve to be there, but every now and then you hear a story about someone who spent 20 years on death row (which in itself is a joke) only to be released because DNA evidence proved their innocense. There must be undeniable proof (confessions*, video evidence, etc..). As for the star on confessions, I mean 100% voluntary confessions, no confessions made after countless hours of interrogation and threats have worn down an individual and convinced them that confessing is the only way out at that point, despite the fact that they're completely innocent. No forced confessions just to boost the support of prosecuters, DAs, etc.
I am pro-military. Though I'm not sure we necessarily need to be in Iraq securing oil right now, I do believe that a strong military is necessary and some wars need to be fought (WWII). Just because we have the muscle doesn't mean we need to constantly flex.
I am against a national ID.
I am against a national healthcare system.
I am pro-welfare, BUT I believe its current state is a huge mess of corruption. I know some people need to be on welfare, and I don't mind supporting those who CANNOT work and take care of themselves. But for those who CHOOSE not to work and instead have baby after baby (because why work to support them? everyone else will for you!) on our dime, I believe the strings need to be cut. I have no idea what the figures are, but from personal observation I would say that the vast majority of welfare recipients do not need it to survive, no matter what type of welfare they're receiving.
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to all the issues plaguing our great nation, but if this is enough to give an answer, then please do so. If you need to know my opinion on other topics, please answer them. This is a question purely asked out of curiosity, but I would love some real answers.
Thanks for reading, look forward to what you all have to say.
