That sucks. Does range insurance cover damages like this or is it best to just eat them?

Just curious how a business owner looks at it.....Besides the obvious suck factor.

I'm curious how much lead was recovered from the shredded tires that had to be replaced.

Maybe Hoov can reply but if they have not "mined" it since they had opened, then probably a huge amount. I would guess that they may be able to "mine" it periodically since it is 14 lanes and somewhat fewer hours of operation than other ranges with similar backstops.

They recovered the lead from an old trap range in Ponca many years ago, getting 7 tons of recovered lead.
I know you can still buy reclaimed lead shot, so there is a market for shot anyway. Reprocessing jacketed lead rounds may not pay off.

I don't think there was that much lead as we had just mined it a month ago. New rubber was put down on both sides and both bays are open.
