My wife and I do this, as in primarily grandparents but looking for a sitter. My niece, who granted is not in college but rather high school (15), watches our two kids every so often. She requested 5 bucks an hour... we through 30 or 40 bucks at her when we go out for an evening, so more like 10 per hour. I'd feel bad only paying her $5 watching 2 kids (1 in diapers). I think the $15 range is very fair.
