What to do with gift cards

Haven't been to a movie theater since Ghost was on and the wife dragged me kicking and screaming to it.
Update: MIL and FIL are both in nursing homes in Broken Arrow and we have been going through things to make sure everything is in order.
They went to movie theaters a lot and went out to eat for every meal. Their kitchen has never been used in 12 years of living there.

So, when birthdays and Christmas came along, we gave them gift cards to the theater they visited and gift cards to the restaurants they ate at.
We found several hundred dollars of those gift cards we gave them in a drawer. Why they didn't use them, we don't have a clue. Verified they are still valid.
Need to find a charity to donate them.
Any input?

You can often sell gift cards and get cash out of them online.

https://www.cardpool.com/sell-gift-cards would be one you can use. You won't get face value but it's better than nothing. You can then donate to you choice of place and know they get the cash.

https://www.charitygiftcertificates.org/GCE/ is an option but I often wonder exactly how much the end charity actually will get. The CEO of the ASPCA was getting 600,000 salary at one point in time. So while it may have been a non profit that doesn't mean the people behind the desk does not make more money than they should. Why don’t you use the restaurant cards and get the food to go and take it to them? You could spend some quality time with them and still use the cards.

You could probably sell the movie cards and get them something they may need.

You could earn a few stars on your man card by pulling up your bootstraps and take the old lady to the movies. You'd be amazed how quickly that few hundred dollars will spend.

Is there a vets home in your area. Some of those folks don't have much money and I'm sure they would enjoy a meal and movie.

I was listening to the GunTalk radio show a few months back and Tom Gresham had the owner of Durys Guns on the show. He mentioned they take any major gift card as in-store credit. No clue if they still do, might be worth a call.
