That's awesome! That takes me back, man... I am glad to hear that. :mosh: My most expensive guns... well... it comes in stages, as life evolves, right? I guess the first time I really "splurged" to buy a gun was a Springfield 1911 V10 Champion I got here, I think for about $750. For me, at the time, that was quite a big deal. Also my first AR, which was a RRA I spent around $800. Also a Ruger Super Redhawk .44 with 7 3/4" barrel for around $800. Those were all around the same time, within a year or so and marked a time when I finally started making a decent amount of money moonlighting in residency. Next, was when I built my SBR AR in .300AAC. I planned that as my sweet baby, had it custom Cerakoted, higher end parts, SBR stamp and suppressor as well. All in with the can and stamps probably landed me a shade over $3k. Then early this year I built my first custom long-range, that one... Well, I dunno, there were a lot of ancillary costs to building a nice reloading setup to go with it. But the gun itself probably came in around $6k, plus scope which was a cheapie, but also the best and most expensive scope I've ever bought. And now due to the 'rona, I may end up having to put it on the market just to survive, after less than 100 rounds through it at the Ponca range day. :( I'm hoping not... trying to decide if it comes to that if I sell the Z or the rifle. <sigh> But hey, things can be replaced, right? Right.
