I know people love their particular car but let's just call it...bragging about another cars performance compared to a 70's era Vette is just lame. However, that being said, if you're comparing car vs car overall the Z car doesn't even come close. The 70's C3's were definitely lacking in performance due to the "gas crunch" and government regulations but they are far sexier than any Z car could ever hope to be and anyone who says differently is delusional. Besides in the 70's when you couldn't buy a performance car people simply bought the performance to put in it. There was no more classic sight in the 70's than a tricked out C3 with a giant blower sticking out of the hood for street racing or a C3 with a hot small block made for racing and some handling upgrades around the tight corners of the PCH or mountain roads. Sure the little high winding Z cars had good handling for the times but they fell short in every other category. Which is why they were resigned to racing against other ricers not competing with the V8 crowd. Obviously today the tide has turned and little 6 cylinders are pushing horsepower numbers that nobody would ever believe in the 70's but that's today not then. Personally I'd take a slower C3 that's way cooler than a faster Z car could dream to be. Thanks for playing!
