Was it a Dept marked gun. Haven’t owned one in ages and guess depts have slowed down doing that, but they can be cool and something to collect though to me not especially a premium factor?

Yes my G22C is dept marked. It took a couple years to find one that somebody didn't want an arm and a leg for.
I like to practice with my 40 sw and carry 375 sig
