what's the consesus on the savage edge xp?

I had a marlin xl7 for 2 years and it was a great rifle for the money. Smooth accurate, AccuTrigger.

As far as xs7 vs xl7? No idea the difference.

Marlin - XS - short action, XL - long action, y - youth stock (1" shorter).

There is a review on the Gunblast website that is very favorable and the test gun was quite accurate, but I looked at one at Outdoor America and I didn't like the magazine catch. It was just a bent piece of polymer that acted as a spring to hold the mag in place and looked really cheezy to me. Other than that, everything else looked good and had a good feel and the bolt operated very smoothly. But that magazine catch was a deal braker for me and they should have just given it a blind magazine if they couldn't come up with something better.
