Whats the deal with these SSAR-15 bump fire stocks?

I have seen them at the recent gun show (for $349). I dont really want to buy one but I wonder what will happen to the owners of these. I know they come with a letter from ATF...but does that really mean anything?

It requires the operator to provide muscular forward force . This is unlike the Akins Accelerator which had its own spring system. The lack of any mechanical parts may be why the BATFE approved it.

This could be interesting on a .50 beowulf
