What's this sales tax crap?

I think the sales tax thing on the OKCGC dues is a bunch of crap! If they want to raise the dues, then just do it.
The program they are using dinged a buddy of mine twice. It listed the dues and another 'fee' of some sort with tax on both.

According to OTC rep I spoke to club dues have been taxable for many years. Either the club was including them in the fee or it has been overlooked till now.

Don't think they knew about it previously.
I think it was a random tax audit by the OTC.
I'm curious what their tax status was before the audit.
