What's Your Favorite Trail Gun?

As I troop around the boonies up here in Wyoming when I'm not at work, I typically strap on my 4" Ruger Gp100 loaded with Buffalo Bore mag loads. What do you guys carry when you leave civilization?

Since I was supposed to be in Alaska today, I would have had my ruger red hawk on my hip with 240 grain Elmer kieth hard lead in the chamber while salmon fishing with fly's.
not there, so shot a match at okc instead.

When im in chicago I usually take my g26, unfortunatly its unloaded and gun and ammo are locked in two seperate compartments. I would really like to get a bowens "real super redhawk" in 454. I think that gun is an absolut beauty! Your gp100 is sweet!

I usually break it down by the bear principle...

Black bear areas get this-Wiley Clapp Edition Ruger GP100 full power high penetration .357 magnum loads



Brown/Grizzly bear areas get this - S&W 629 V-Comp Performance Center with full power high penetration .44 magnum loads



Polar/Kodiak bear areas get both the V-Comp + the .50 Beowulf

it varies from a s&w model 18 to a model 28 and sometimes a model 29 depends on the time of year. occasionally i carry a berreta 92 in the woods.
