Even to me that is overloaded.
I have hauled 6500lbs in my Ford E150 van and 1600lbs in my Geo metro.
That is inside the vehicle.
I have towed 5000 lbs with my Geo Metro.
Not far and not fast though.
45MPH city streets.

You must know your limits :)

I've hauled 2 tons of cattle feed in the back of a '72 F100 (390, automatic).

My biggest concern was the Sears retread mud-grips on the rear...
:drunk2:

I bet you didn't spin the tires. LoL. Those fords had the lightest rear ends and it was hard not to throw gravel every time you took off.

And slowing down to get the front tires on the ground every so often to steer it.
Hehe... that really wasn't an issue, though it was a bit low in the rear. I had 'em put the first ton right up next to the cab, and there was a good bit of bed space left. A friend & neighbor was with me and said, "You think that thing will haul another ton?"

I said something to the effect of, "We'll find out..." :D

We unloaded mine (which wound up being the last ton loaded), then he drove my pickup home & with his ton and brought it back the next morning. He got a free delivery, but I got help unloading mine...
