In the 70s I tried them out under my work clothes a few times when the wind chill was about -20 degrees. I finally gave up the idea and bought a snow suit, it was a lot more comfortable and easier to deal with. And who ever made the remark about hairy legs is right, they look ridiculous with all that hair poking through the hose.
