ok, Ill give it a shot...... thanks for the advice... surely it isnt that bad.... just looks fragile

Actually, the stocks are a little fragile without the support of the metal. You'll see many examples out there with stock repairs. You're not likely to hurt it, just don't use it for a club.

the closer you get to the muzzle the more fragile. But thats just because its so darn thin! The upper handguard is also pretty thin but seems like it would be easy to replace. iv always thought that if the stock on mine got a crack or something then id replace it with one of those nice laminated ones or maybe even a synthetic monte carlo stock.
