Sadly, they aren't as reliable in newer year models and finding an older one that doesn't look to be owned by a kid (or someone who loves to abuse cars) is getting to be pretty difficult. Add into that the fact that very few shops will touch a Subaru Boxter engine (compared to other imports/domestics - including available dealerships in OK), and all that fun starts to cost you some pretty serious money. I wish they would never have changed the formula when they got it perfect. I wish Mazda would have released a Speed3 in sedan (and AWD), and I wish the RX8 was actually a reliable platform for a daily-driver. I opted for a S-grand touring Mazda3 over the Speed3 they had on the lot (within $2k of the same price back when i bought mine, but the interior of the S-Grand Touring was way nicer than the Speed3 was and it rode about 10x smoother (and I find that the older I get, I tend to prefer comfort over sporty). Still have a soft-spot for the Mazdas, but I'm starting to think used Lexuses are the best deals in used-cars.
