Why are they all flat top now?

This is my "plain" rifle. With the exception of being an SBR and green, this is about as plain as it gets.

That looks tricked out compared to my "plain rifle". The "plain one" spends its life in velcro in the cab of the tractor, or rattling around on the floorboard of the truck. LOL.

The reason I figure is that they figure most people will put optics on them or a red dot anyway. I have noticed that though.

It's getting harder to find but you can still get some from Fulton (A2) and Nodak (slick side and A1), Brownell's sells some as well but I don't think they've been in stock for a while now.

The OP asks a good question here. We understand the A3 upper. But why they still come with the triangle sight tower front sight? I personally think that its the cheapest gasblock you can get. I also realize others like to cowitness and all. But seriousely. Why not just use a gas block with picatiny on it?
