Because they believe themselves to be our masters. Every law, mandate and regulation they pass is designed to get around the written protections of our unalienable rights. Any person who believes that today's society is a freer society than that of Post-Revolution America is a fool. But fools will suffer indignities until such a time that those in power attempt to disarm and enslave the people. This nation is on the downward side of the circle of history. Eventually, we'll be back to April 19, 1775 which is why it's paramount to remained armed.
