I ask myself that question a lot. I have a 622 and it is a dynamite .22 lr pistol. I'd much prefer it to a lot of popular autos you see today. And, the threads don't hurt either.

But, for a better answer, read this (it's a pre-1997 article). I've never had any of the noted problems with mine.

Well my always worked great till it got way to dirty and the last time at the range I dropped it and that screwed it up.

I'm a big fan of the 422, 622, 2206 series, still looking for a 2206 target, have a line on one, just working on the price a bit.

I also like the 622VR, people want crazy prices for them as well.

I will be posting some pics soon of a 422 project I am going to do.
