I was trying to think of one for my 8yo girl myself. I didnt come up with anything. Maybe the Ruger SR22.
Ruger shop keeper is another good small .22.
The walther P22 I had years back took over 8,000 rounds from me. It took about 500 rounds of CCI mini mags to get it reliable, but after the break in, it would chew up anything i fed so long as it didn't say Remington on the box.
I guess it's really not that big, just a little thick. I forgot about the 938.
Sr 22 is great for kids
After looking into it more I think I have decided against it. I dont like the safety also being a decock. I once had a Walther P22 and didnt like it at all. Ill figure something out.
You may look into a 22/45 lite. More of a 1911 controls just bigger.
Walther also made a THP .22 semiauto that was smaller than the PPK. These are getting harder to find and going up in value.
I actually have a Lite. It gets shot more than any other gun. Still a little large for a 8 year old girl.
