The CCW class is not a beginner's class. You are expected to be familiar with your firearm and safety procedures. In fact, the only requirement to pass the shooting portion of the class is that you demonstrate the ability to handle a firearm safely. Legally, you could fire 50 shots from your gun and not hit the target a single time and still pass if the instructor is satisfied that you have exhibited the ability to handle a firearm SAFELY ... GC taught me to shoot and there was a period of time there when he really got on my nerves. Seems to be a pretty common occurrence with married couples (or people in significant relationships). We enjoy shooting together A LOT more now that he is not always trying to "help" me. :chop: LOL I am not a big fan of "Women's Only" classes either but other women are more comfortable in them, I guess. The one women's only event I went to was just ... well, I just didn't enjoy it at all. Too much time was spent "talking up" recoil on the bigger guns and too many women were doing that "helpless" thang. Oh, my what a big gun ... I am scared. Please ... And I will be the first to admit that whether a gun is "pretty" or not doesn't factor into my decision on whether it would be fun or practical for me to shoot ...
