The model 40 was their second attempt at auto loaders. The sliding barrel was horrible at breaking the action causing stock damage. It was finally recalled and replaced by the model 12. As far as I know, no parts are available. The model 40 is best used as a wall hanger with little value. It would be in your uncle's best interest to never attempt to fire it.

Well, I looked at the shotgun anyway. It looked nice & clean. Felt solid. But i chose not to buy it. I read about them being prone to breaking stocks. Still couldnt find an approx. value.
It didnt fit me anyway. Horribly too short of a stock.
