As best I can tell, it's never been out of the box, with only the tissue paper torn in place to view the rifle. The paperwork is still inside with the rifle. The box is intact, but its not perfect, with damage obvious in the photos. This rifle was offered in two flavors, the carbine and the rifle. This is the carbine version, with the 20" heavy octagon barrel, and it chambered in 30-30. These were the first of the "Commemorative" Winchesters, and not extremely rare or valuable. They are beautiful guns, and make great pieces to display or use.
