I'm still old fashioned, I use 3 stones for EDC, kitchen an every thing in between.

I was always fascinated watching my pop using Arkansas stones an jus picked up on it , this was before gadgets.

I hear ya'. I always used stones, finishing up with a hard Arkansas. I bought a Lansky diamond sharpener and tried it. Honestly, I think I got a better edge by hand with my stones, so I sent it back. Stuck with my stones until I tried the WorkSharp. It was just so easy running an edge through the belt(s), then a light touch-up with a hard Arkansas, followed by a leather strop. Yeah, I've gotten lazy.
