I’ve always heard not to use steel cased ammo in a mini 14/30 because the hard primers can break the firing pins, which need to be hand fit. That said I can understand why you would in a mini 30 considering how expensive brass 7.62x39 is. That’s the reason why I opted for a 14 myself.
