There is a bit more of a difference if trying to use Dillon pistol dies on another brand press. A Dillon die set will not include an expander die. Dillon expands at the powder stage with a flow through powder die that is not included with the die set. It comes with the conversion kit and works in conjunction with their powder drop.  It will have a decapper/sizer die, a seater die, and a crimp die. Most other 3 die sets have a decapper/sizer die, an expander die, and a combo seat/crimp die.  4 dies sets such as Lee and a crimp die. Some still have a combo seat/crimp die you adjust to seat only. (Lee)  Some higher end have a true seat only die with done if they’re lines.  I personally usually only use a Dillon decapper/seater in my Dillon tool heads and use 3rd party dies in the other stations of my common use calibers.Correction. The above Dillon expander in the powder drop stage is limited to the 450,550,650,750 series machines.  1050 based machines are a bit different and expand in the swage stage. It has a specific backing die that also expands.</blockquote>
