OK, we all know that the media has been in the bag for years, even decades. But at what point do we reset their clocks? This is a perfect example: http://thehill.com/blogs/defcon-hill/industry/259517-graham-says-hell-block- Suffice it to say that this is a HUGE story that should be reported. But try and Google "canceled contracts under sequestration" and you'll find that no mainstream media outlet is covering this. On page two of the search you'll find the first print outlet report from the Washington Times: http://times247.com/articles/graham-obama-s-defense-layoffs-move-patently-illegal The Washington Post picks up on page 6: http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/surge-in-canceled-deals-offers-preview-of-sequesters-effects/2012/08/19/51832c18-e730-11e1-a3d2-2a05679928ef_story.html NBC News Business also gets a hit on page 6 with the misleading byline of "Dow Chemical Layoffs Announced Prematurely" and goes on to mention nothing about the sequestration issue. http://www.nbcnews.com/business/dow-chemical-layoffs-announced-prematurely-1C6642283?streamSlug=businessmain Forbes finally kicks in with the real scoop on Page 7 and explains why sequestration of contracts doesn't apply as a WARN Act exemption: http://www.forbes.com/sites/gregorymcneal/2012/09/30/obama-administration-tells-contractors-facing-sequestration-to-not-warn-employees-about-potential-layoffs/ In 10 full pages of Google search results, not one story appears from NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, HLN, MSNBC or even the vaunted FOX news. Zero coverage. This all kicks in this week, yet not a single peep. Yet there are dozens of competent journalistic articles littering those 10 pages of results from industry, government and watchdog outlets. So, is it sequestration? Or castration? Edward R. Murrow's grave must be on fire due to the friction of his spinning corpse. :(
