Hey All,

Not yet familiar with all the terminology so please bear with me.

Lately, about the last 10 or so magazines I've emptied, the slide on my XD has not "locked open" upon firing the last round in the mag.

What could cause that? Is that bad?

I just tried an empty mag - the slide did stay locked back.

Maybe limp wrist? I have never had a problem with it not chambering the next round, etc. I've never had a failure to fire or extract. Fired probably around 1000, maybe 1500, rounds through it.

I have 3 magazines. One is an extra I ordered from SA, the other 2 came with the gun. <I tried all 3 and the slide stayed locked back on all 3.>

I have only used Federal and Winchester factory rounds in it.

Thanks

Your thumb's riding the release. You don't have to ride it hard to push it down far enough for it to move out of the way. There's nothing wrong with your gun (and I say that knowing absolutely nothing about you or your gun so....). Seriously, though, mine did the same thing. Flag your strong-side thumb high on your grip for a few mags and see if that fixes it.
