I've been in his shoes somewhat, was on my way to buy a Winchester 1897 and lost the radiator in my car. I did, however, send the guy a message as soon as I pulled off the road to let him know and set up a new time the following day.
Hopefully he's not yanking your chain to see if you'll bite again. I'll be honest and say I've done that to someone before too that was trying to waste my time. Kept sending me lowball offers I was declining then finally agreed to meet him somewhere and let him drive all over the Walmart parking lot looking for "my" Honda for half an hour. He finally caught on, threatened to kill me, and I never heard from him again.
