So i'm thinking of getting into 3G and was thinking of going with 1 o'clock BUIS and the Nikon M223 1-4X20mm scope. Would this be a decent inexpensive scope to start with or should I look into something else in the $200.00-$250.00 price range?
or would the Nikon P-223 3X32MM be a better option?
Burris Tac 30 is the best deal in a 1-4 under $300 bones. Save a bit more and skip over the cheaper options. Budget for a quality mount too while you're at it.

I'm thinking the Leupold mount along with Vortex 1.4 PST scope to start with.
Vortex makes really great optics, lots of guys run them and im saving for one myself. Make sure you get the one with capped turrets though, there's nothing quite like losing your zero when you really need it.
If you get the offset irons and use them along with your scope it'll put you in open class and that's no fun if you don't have the equipment on all 3 guns.

I haven't seen the leupold mount, but the mount most seem to gravitate towards is the Larue SPR-E. ADM and JP also make decent mounts.

Offset irons are allowed in tac-ops. If you have an offset red dot, it will put you in open
