I own quite a few 1911's. I went to a 9mm version about 4-5 years ago and I am totally hooked. I know when you say 1911, you're saying .45; however, I think once you begin shooting a 1911 in 9mm you will see what a great platform it is for this caliber. I own a Champion Operator in 45 and 9 and I like both very much, but I will carry the 9mm every time. I also own a Wilson Professional in 9mm and really like to shoot the gun at the range, it's super nice, but a little heavy to carry on a day to day basis. My favorite, 1911/9mm to carry every day is, without a doubt, the Wilson EDC X9. The size of a Glock 19, Double Stack 15 round Magazine, but feels and shoots like a 1911. Yes, it is a little pricey, but what an excellent firearm if you feel like treating yourself!
I agree wholeheartedly on your assessment of the Wilson EDC X9. It's a great carry gun.

I like 1911's, but if you going higher end (over the $1000 price point), for a single stack, single action 9mm I'd get a P210 standard just to be different.

These are very nice shooting weapons and very accurate. Would be cumbersome to carry.

I just picked up this Staccato C2 and it is 9mm. Haven't shot it yet but it feels really smooth and the fit and finish is above and beyond anything I have had the chance to mess with. I think the capacity of a 2011 makes it worth getting over a standard 9mm 1911, but I have heard there is nothing better to shoot than a high quality 1911 in 9mm.

I got to the range yesterday afternoon; I got to shoot my latest 9MM 1911; I picked it up last month -- yesterday was the first time I got to shoot real bullets -- Dry fired with Azoom snap caps:

Wilson Combat - 06:03:2021.jpg

Wilson Combat Protector Professional II, was using my 9MM reloads -- Excellent groups from 10; 15 and 20 yds. I brought my P365’s.
The P365XL with the Romeo Zero was close. but the Wilson was a pleasure to shoot.

Looks like I have to sell some of my Colts and Kimbers for a Wilson EDC X9, if I can get one !!!!!!!

Excellent range day !!!!!!!!

I have owned one 1911 in my life. A 9mm Springfield Range Officer Operator. One nice pistol. But I am not a 1911 guy. It will most likely be the one and only 1911 I will have owned, as I sold it.
