Type 99 Arisaka in 7.7 bought in early 70's and I still have it.

Mine was an M1 Garand. Made the drive to the CMP south store just to pick it out. I came home with two of them.

I always wanted an M1 Carbine, but I kept passing on them when they were $300. Kept telling myself "later." Boy did I miss the boat on that one.

Also remember my uncle trying to get me to get in on a 8mm Mauser or two for $99. Wish I'd done that too. Think they were '98s.

I used to see the Carbines at the gun shows for $175. Now you really can't touch one for under $500. They are sure fun!

Mine was a Tula SKS, loved that gun, but caught the AR bug and now the only mil surp I have is a mosin. Would love to get my hands on a garand tho.
