Medical care has become crappier. You get an appointment and end up waiting beyond the appointment time. It seems like every time you go they want to put you on another med. I have asthma, but rarely need an inhaler. Every time I go they want to put me on something that I would need to use daily with Formoterol. I had a script for 3 Ventolin Inhalers, they have lasted me well over three years, I rarely use them. The doctors have never in the past 20 years heard anything except air going in and out of my lungs when checking. I have grown to distrust modern medicine. The goal seems to be get you on three or more meds to get their kickbacks from pharma. Not telling anyone what to do, but haven't had a good doctor since I was a child.
Appointments, Mine was 9 AM, Got there at 8:45and signed in. 9:40 lead to the scale to weight and in to the room, 10:05Dr comes in. 10:15 out the door. Now... Have appointment but missed it. They sent me a bill for $50. I sent them the bill for $75 for the hour I waited and only seen 10 mins. They no longer want to see me. This is my HEART DOCTOR... Try and find another Heart Specialist. Not taking any new patients. or 6 months waiting list to get appointment! WTF.

My dr is getting rich on payments, 115 total over 7 events, all for food. Guess I need to get on more drugs, that he isn’t pushing, so he can make more.

So, you want a heart dr that will attend to non emergencies over emergencies?

No joke. It's almost like the patients are paying them for services or something. Expectations...good grief. And some even complain about waiting room times - like their time is worth something. Sheeesh.
You are correct.

However I believe the issue is around the tone of the conversation, usually from someone who in unable to pronounce basic medical terminology.

"U said dis is infectious! Naw dats a disease what I gots is a spider bite! You need to change the medical record. "

I’m far from being a health nut, but other than one chiropractor visit last September (which was a mistake I won’t repeat), I managed to avoid doctors for 20 years. Was I sick during that time? Heck yeah, but in my opinion, sniffles, colds, or a sore toes doesn’t necessarily “require” a trip to the doctor.
The problem with the vast majority of people is that they’ve been brainwashed into believing they “need” some sort of pharmaceutical prescribed by a doctor to cure an ingrown toenail. Unfortunately, my wife is one of them. I can’t convince her that just because a doctor says she “needs to come back in a week for a follow up” that she really doesn’t have to go if whatever problem she was having is better. :rolleyes2

Can you imagine how many of their patients really tick them off also?

I don't know if I ticked him off, but I got his attention.

I had gallbladder surgery. They field dressed me. Dr wanted me off the drip, to get up and walk. He told nurse to give me Vicidein. I told him look on my chart, I am allergic to Vicidein.

He looks at chart and whispers to Nurse.

Nurse brings in some pills. A few minutes and I can see my heart beating in chest. Call Nurse, ask what she gave me? Vicidein

I point at heart monitor and tell her to get Dr and a gurney, he wants me up, I'm going to get up and kick his ass, then call my lawyer.

She runs out and I never seen that Dr again.
