Credible story or not, the scariest thing about the whole incident is that no one can say for sure what it is (at least to the public).

You and I share the same thought on the matter. Was it a missile? I wasn't there so I can't say one way or the other. However, I don't believe for a split second that it was a jet, hence nothing appearing on any radar. Simply put, that's nothing short of a d*mned lie that was told to the public in order to prevent panic.

A Missile is readily identifiable with radar.
Every fighter jet has radar that will pick up missile launches at them.
Airport radar is exponentially more powerful. It would have picked up a missile launch, without a doubt.

Airport radar doesn't pick up objects... it is a receiver that picks up the signal produced by the transponders in the airplanes which identify them and provide information about speed, direction, altitude and aircraft type and ID.

Standard civilian airport radar does not pick up aircraft without transponders or missiles (which also do not have transponders).

I thought this has been cleared up. It has been stated it was US Airways 808 from Honolulu. Times against airline schedules got checked, then the following day, they checked out a webcam that was trained in the appropriate direction. They found the exact same contrail at the time AWE808 was coming over.

With a trail going straight up into the clouds? I'm not a conspiracy theorist but I don't believe that. If the contrail/chemtrail, or whatever they choose to call it, was going across the sky in a horizontal direction then I would believe it could be a plane but going up through the clouds in a vertical manner? No chance.
