If I come to your house, and bring you a bottle of wine, I have given you a gift. If you throw it away because you aren't fond of Merlot, I still have given you a gift.

Would you then kill me or torture me forever if you found out I tossed your wonderful wine? Kidding of course.

And still, it falls back on me. Yet scripture says it's not of ourselves. This is a pretty simple concept, really. Fundamental Christianity has made it sooooo confusing!

That's easy, they haven't been given belief by God. I've listed verses that say belief is granted to us by God.

Well yea, that was a really good year for Merlot! Hehehe

The thing is you would never know how good it was. I don't know how all of this is going to play out. I know that Jesus loves me, the Bible tells me so. I do know that however we try to figure it out, God is bigger and smarter and has a plan. His plan is perfect. Just because I don't understand why the scripture reads the way it does, doesn't mean that it negates the stuff I do know to be true. It's about faith. I wouldn't think God wants anyone to burn in hell, or be seperated from Him for forever, but I'm confident that He's got it under control, and I'm going to believe He has our best interests at heart.

That's because it's made up of broken people in need. Like I said before - everything else is COMMENTARY - too many people have just believed what some preacher told them, and didn't dive in for themselves. Complacency.

For Maddskillz: I would keep in mind that when quoting scripture that a lot of it is open to interpretation.

This. Regardless of what you come to understand, be your own teacher also. You are taking the right path. I struggled with many of these concepts (agnosticism did NOT help) and finally realized that it was cool if I didn't understand, and that it possibly was not important to understand. That may be a definition of faith. It is for me.
