Has anyone been given written permission to concealed carry on any campus?

I wrote to the President of ??? College and apparently I don't meet the criteria:

"I appreciate your taking time to write to make a concealed carry request.
About a year ago, ??? reviewed concealed carry criteria from other colleges and universities and consulted with law enforcement officials. After completing that research we developed our own criteria for presidential authorization to carry a concealed weapon on campus. Because your request does not meet one or more of our criteria I have decided to decline the request. Thank you

I've never heard of anyone getting written permission. It's in the law books, but most Presidents/Dean's don't want you to carry and the law has given them the power to deny you your rights. "Gotta get permission from daddy"

Update.. the "Public Safety" admin had this to say back to the President "Thank you "name withheld" for your continuing effort to keep the ??? community safe and even accident free."
we know that a "gun free zone" is so safe... should I ask for an armed escort to and from my vehicle and to class and back and also somebody to guard my car since my handgun will have to remain in the car....blah blah blah..
