I just ordered some in and was wondering if anyone else noticed that they are now made in China? For the price they charge, I think they could be made in America.

I quit buying Snap-On a few yrs ago, .....not so much because of the quality, but because the dealers that took over the route at the airport were pretty much dicks...pardon my language.

I use almost exclusively Gearwrench in my shop. They are owned by Danaher tools, which is the same company that makes KD tools. Top-shelf stuff. Snap-on is like buying name brand prescriptions and Cobalt, gearwrench is like buying generic. They function the same, have the same warranty, but one costs 3 times more. By the way, I replaced ALL of my snap-on, matco, mac and Cornwell hand tools with Gearwrench last year. I am a professional car builder, I use these tools everyday.

I am going to school to get my a&p and I'm getting around a 50 to 60% discount. Really the only reason I went with them. I'll never get a deal like that again.

Metro-Tech? I do think they are good tools, I just didn't care for the couple of guys that were trying to sell them to me......when I worked out at Wiley Post, we had a great Snap-On rep....most of my first tools were from him, but when he retired, we ended up with a Tool...no pun intended....then moved out to Will Rogers and the guy that took that route ended up being another Tool...we weren't buyin tools every week, so he flat out refused to come out to our hangar, told us if we needed or wanted anything, that we had to hit him up at AAR...so we said screw him and Snap-On.

Good luck with school man. I got my A&P from Metro-Tech...class of 99.

I think that guy folded. I haven't been around much (working off station) but they may have a new dealer.

Craftsman FTW,break one, walk into any one of th 5000+ Sears stores around the country, seven days a week, and get a new one no questions asked. No waiting around for a truck to come by once a week.I once took back a screw driver I found that someone had used as a chisel, broke the tip and had beaten the rounded end of the handle flat.Showed it to the guy at Sears and he gave me a new one.I couldn't believe it.
