Mine are for home use. I had some lower priced sets and individual tools such as skill, craftsman and Ryobi. The last time I had one where the battery went bad I converted to Ridgid. The tools are sturdy and have good warranties. If you register them the batteries are warranted too.

I just had one more idea. I wonder if it would be possible to make a plug-in AC power converter out of an old battery shell by using an 18V transformer? I'm pretty sure I could get it open and dispose of the battery leaving some room inside for a transformer. Since the batteries are rated anywhere from 3000-6000 mah I assume that means I would need a transformer rated 3 amps to 6 amps? Am I thinking through this correctly? If the transformer was too big for the battery shell I could just use it to make contacts and do the transformer externally.
