Whats the cost on that Prophet? I have the lock, so I could mount it to that plate, and that plate to my bed rail, make things simple for me.

I mounted a shotgun behind the headboard of our bed. It stays loaded with 00 buck. The problem is that as I pull it from the headboard, the barrel is pointed right at my wife. Worried that if the adrenaline were kicked in during an emergency, it might accidentally fire.

Next place I'm looking is at the edge of the bed by the bed skirt. Anyone have a good picture of their setup, or other ideas of where to safely keep a loaded shotgun in semi-plain sight?

"Accidentally?" Naw...maybe you could switch sides of the bed? Point it in the other direction? Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target?

Thanks for all the inputs. Got it down in the bed skirt now. I like it better there, anyway, because it points straight at the bedroom door, and I could respond laying flat on my back from being sound asleep if I had to.

Druryj, I hear what you are saying, but I just don't want to take the chance. The muzzle did sweep past her head as I removed it.
