Supporting the Zionist takeover of Palestine was probably the government's worst foreign policy blunder since embargoing Japan. It has brought us over half a century of hostility and conflict with a part of the world that we were previously on friendly terms with.
I think the storming of the Embassy in Benghazi is just the beginning of the blowback we will see from helping those whackos take over Libya... but it will pale in comparison to the blowback from supporting Israel all these years. It has been nothing but a curse, and it is high time we come to our senses and put a stop to it.

I'm afraid all of this stems from the quick recognition of Israel by Mr. Truman. This is just another of the continued blessings we shall receive.

"And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee,and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed"
One can interpret this to mean that the entire world will be blessed because Christ will come from this lineage, one can also remember that Abram (Abraham) had Ishmael. And you can formulate all kinds of dogma about the blessing/cursing thing.
Doesn't say "you shall be cursed if you don't spend your tax dollars, blood of your soldiers, and integrity as a nation on Israel of 1948"

I agree & that same thing makes me wonder how long before the blowback starts effecting us on US soil. It could become a reality especially if our government doesn't stop getting involved in things we have no business in. We already have enough enemies around the world & they have hit us at home more than once. With our population changing like it is we really have no idea how many are already here who wish us harm & are just waiting to strike. Some don't want to accept it but at some point we could see car bombings like overseas. All it would take is the wrong group to get inside our borders & we all know how easy that is. I would have disregarded this thought in the past but fear it's a future reality for us eventually.

I guess I'm really in the dark here. I thought the Brits' Balfour Declaration opened Palestine up for more Jewish settlement in the twenties. I thought after the war, the Soviets backed the Israelis' attempts at seizing the land, even supplied weapons. During this time, Israeli suicide bombers and terrorists were commonplace. Perhaps I dreamt it, but the Israelis got a better deal with us, and Truman was quick to rcognize them as a legitimate state within hours of military victory, denying the USSR's chance to be the primary influence over there. Did I miss something?
