Next time you flash your lights at someone to get over think about this

Just one I could guess is following to close. (Most people who do that light flashing routine also get right up on your bumper)

Thanks. I figured that was most likely the case.

Could have been worse, LEO could have brake checked him. Then wrote him a ticket.

You always, always check the license plate before you start flashing the lights and honking the horn.

This would have done him no good...since they all have blind tags....And as mentioned...following too close IS the violation

I think, at least here in Tulsa, the local cop cars are now wearing regular plates. Which, combined with the lack of markings on cars used for traffic enforcement, is a sneaky and underhanded strategy, IMHO. It doesn't do anything to foster good relations with the public, and makes it easier for weirdos and psychos to slap emergency lights on their cars to try and ambush unsuspecting drivers.

No knock on GC, though - it's not the individual LEO I have a beef with, but the departmental decision to employ tactics that should be reserved for undercover duties such as narcotics, homicides, stakeouts, etc.

The image of a Prius bearing down on another car in the left-hand lane, lights flashing, is pretty amusing.

That bolded part right there is the source of about 98% of the problems out there for us regular joes and beat cops alike ... :grumble:

IMHO, of course ... :lookaroun
