I have spoken in previous years of the Security Police guarding nuclear armed aircraft and they had weapons but no ammo. If they are trained and on guard, they should be armed and have ammo.

In Germany, we roved in a truck around the off-post housing. We wore full-battle rattle and had our M-16's. If we got attacked we would have to call back to post with our ammo from three miles away.
