I have owned one with the full package from Apex, sear, springs, aluminum trigger with forward reset ect. To tell the truth I am happy to either use the Apex sear or just recut and polish the factory sear. Its for self defense not target. If I had a full size maybe I would invest the funds but not on the Shield. It only takes a few minutes to recut and polish out the sear. Check out Burwell Custom for full instructions.

I have a new Shield. The trigger feels a bit heavy and I'm wondering if the Apex duty / carry install is worth considering. Any experience?

I picked up my first Shield for cheap so I bought the kit and night sights. The Apex kit is phenomenal. Reduces weight and smooths it out. When I got my NTS Shield as a spiff from my time at Outdoor America, I swapped the Apex goodies to the new gun and sold the old gun. Also have the Apex DCAEK in a M&P CORE 9 and it was an improvement over the already worked over Pro-Series trigger.

I definitely like the feel of the Apex aluminum trigger over the stock unit. So, I'm glad I ordered the full kit when I decided to upgrade the parts.

Ehhhh, shoot the piss out of it
Sit around doing drills , dry firing it
As said work on the sear a little

Although I do like the apex trigger, shooting it with the boolits I could buy......=more fun
Unless , of course your going to use it for competition.....

olyeller, about half a dozen so far. I will never say mine approach the quality of your work, but it is an improvement over the factory.
