Had a great pheasant hunt this morning with my brothers, father and my middle son. We got a limit and maybe 7 quail and a rabbit. We were done before noon. Saw quite a few covey of quail but didn't shoot that well on them. We hunted around Pond Creek and Billings. I took the pic so not in it.

Seems like a lot of birds this year Dennis. Maybe not as many as last year but enough for a good hunt anyway and I think the quail were definitely thicker.

Congrats! It's so sloppy right now, I can't imagine hunting anything but dry roads :) Looks like a fun day with family.

We had a lot of pheasant last year, but it was 95% hens. Darned few roosters.
This year, we are seeing more roosters, so its looking up.
The quail are certainly up this season. Don't know if the recent ice had an effect on them though.

This may be my Britts last season. He was diagnosed with a heart murmer, but the vet said it was ok to take him on limited hunts. He won't be replaced. Wife is retiring next year, and travel plans are in the works. Finding some body or some place to kennel the dogs is terribly expensive. He is 9 years old.

Dennis,

anytime you need a dog sitter, I would be more than glad to help out. A couple of days, a week or a month, it doesn't matter. Just let me know if I can help out. Boarding fee would be a dollar a day...

Glad to see your dad out there. Looks like you guys had a great hunt!

I'm going pheasant and quail hunting this Friday, and hope I can do as good as you guys...
