Guess different folks have different ideas. I try to make a point of "First I'll take it posted here wins."

Now if I get a PM, act on it, agree on a deal, and post "Sold" in the thread, all before anyone posts "I'll take it" then that's different.

Whose sop? First I'll take it gets it whether pm or posted with me

Like I said, different ideas. Generally the first "I'll take it" posted wins - I've seen as much stated in several forums over the years. I do try and make it a point to state so in my ads.

SOP is that the first "I'll take it" posted openly in the WTS ad trumps all. A PM'ed offer isn't visible for all to see.

That may be your SOP, but I don't think anyone appointed you to make the rules for everyone else. Unless the seller stated as such, there is nothing binding about an "I'll take it" unless stated so in the ad.

There are people here that are such a pain in the @$$ that I'm not interested in messing with them to sell them something.

Sigh... I guess people jump onto the first thing said and make a big issue out of it, rather than reading through the rest of the comments. Ah well, takes all sorts to make a world.

No, there's nothing binding about it. It's merely a commitment that sometimes is ignored.

If I was buying something on here and offered the asking price, and someone came behind me and offered $50 more, I would expect the seller to offer it to me for that price, but I would not get mad if they sold it to the highest offer.
