I love this stuff, whether I buy one or it has a "practical" purpose or not it's neat to see such a historic and influential gun be recreated so us mere mortals could afford one or at a minimum get a chance to shoot one to see how it felt.

Same reason I like my PTR-91 and DSA FAL. They aren't HKs or FNs but they run well enough for what I want to do with them and they are less than 25% the cost of an original.

I wish they would have designed their own fire control group. It looks like they are using G3 surplus FCG's. It makes the gun look "off" and dries up the surplus parts for the HK builders.

Its been an offering before on a limited basis. Recon Ordnance had some foreign produced semi auto STG rifles they offered many years ago. For some reason I doubt there is a massive demand for them but I could be wrong , we shall see. I would buy one in 5.56 just for the sake of having one to shoot, but I honestly don't need another obscure expensive caliber to purchase or load for and to that end reloading doesn't feel like a money saver to me any more. In many cases I have been able to buy bulk ammo for common things like 5.56 cheaper than I can load it / replace my existing stocks of powder and primers at the far more expensive prices of today.

This ain't the salad days anymore.
