I've learned that evidently every thing I started to do involved adding a lil more snuff to my lip. EVERYTHING. I grab at my left shirt pocket a bunch.

That ain't going away any time soon!! 5 wks snuff free and still reaching for a non existent can of snuff!!!

Things to look forward to:
1 gums starting to turn a healthy looking pink
2 teeth getting whiter looking
3 painful gums gone
4 noticing more money in my account at the end of the pay period LOL
5 noticing more of the subtle flavors in my choice of spirits! (Said spirits do make me wish to hell I was not a quitter though LOL)

All you quitters and wanna-be's...

...this man speaks well to quitting. But keep remembering that #6 would be the benefit to your family.

While my wife preferred me smoking a pipe as opposed to smoking cigarettes, she really hated it when I would break the pipe down for cleaning. Even if the odor of the tobacco is gone, the family finds it better.

(Besides, I hear that the "step-up Oklahoma" bunch wants to tax tobacco products more.)

I ain't gonna lie, I just bought another tub. I've been crazy short tempered with my wife and kids. I'm sorry but maybe this just ain't the right time. I'm gonna get with my pastor (he kicked the habit some years ago) and see what kind of scripture I can attack this habit with. Good luck to the rest of y'all.

Sorry to hear that, bud. Hate to see all that effort wasted.

Good luck. :)

Guys you are not superman! Quitting Hagen is hard as hell! Not only are you breaking a constant nicotine feed, you are fighting an oral fixation and having something to do with your hands (packing can, rolling can around in hand and just holding the can). Lot of stuff going away all at once. I also fought with the loss of something I enjoyed the whole process of.
4 mg nicotine/gum/lozenge gives you enough nicotine to get you through the really bad times. Patches do not work for me, when I work I sweat and the do not stay put.
I am sitting at 5 wks and I am down to a 2mg lozenge in the morning and one before bed. I am absolutely sure I could not have done this without them............. I lost it once the first week and have been edgy a couple of times but all in all it has been easy-ish(lol) with a little help from lozenges.

Keep fighting!!! But I have to say you are fixating on it and I would put the can out of sight and go occupy yourself with anything else!!!
Go load a bullet , clean a gun, work on you car or chase that lady around the table!! Get your mind on something else!!!

No shame in anyone's game.
I have been 9 days Hagen free, I keep a full can on my desk right next to the 3D printer. It is a choice I make everytime I want a dip to not take one, my decision alone. If ya stop and are happy, great, if you are trying and it sucks, fight towards your goal, if it just ain't time to stop yet, no big deal... It is each person's personal decision to take a dip, to look at the can and say hell no, or to just keep trying day by day to get there. Thanks to all who add to the thread daily!!!
